Hiking trail between Luminy and the calanque de Morgiou

The best way to get to the calanque de Morgiou is to start from Luminy. As for Sugiton, you have to take the large track at the art school, then 500 meters before the col de Sugiton, take the right path to go down to Morgiou. In the descent, you can choose between two paths. The recommended itinerary is high and easy, and gives some beautiful viewpoints. However, there is a chain to pass when you arrive above the small beach of Morgiou. it is not really difficult, but if you don’t feel safe or if you are afraid of heights, take directly the second path that has no difficulty. Indeed, if you have to go back, you would have to go up the three quarters of the coast to take the second path. The second path has no technical difficulty and it goes down faster to the end of the route de Morgiou. It gives the opportunity to go through the small cabins alleys before arriving on the port.

Route from Luminy to Morgiou (recommended itinerary)(with a chain to pass)

• From Luminy take the large track with blue and yellow dotted line markings on the ground. The path is false flat and when you pass the campuses on the left, the track goes into the woods on both sides. On this path, most of the hikers go to the col de Sugiton to go to the calanque de Sugiton, or to the Viewpoint. But here you are not going to the col: after 13 minutes, follow the yellow dotted line going to the right on a small path before starting the descent on the East side of Morgiou. You can take a shortcut a few minutes before. When the vegetation is less dense and when you can see a stone with an information board, cut to the right of the hill and cross the second track to follow the yellow dotted line. After 3 minutes going down there is a junction between the yellow dotted line and another yellow one. Stay on the left on the dotted line. After a few minutes you can enjoy beautiful views on the calanque. When you finally arrive above the port and the small beach of Morgiou, there is a chain to pass. The yellow dotted line path ends up 150 meters further. So you have to finish the route following the red path going to the calanque.

Route from Luminy to Morgiou (easier itinerary)

• People with fear of heights may want to choose this route. It is less beautiful than the recommended path, but still better than the one from the Baumettes. To begin, follow the recommended path above but in the descent to Morgiou, after about 3 minutes (250m), take the yellow path that goes to the right. The path enters an inclined small valley and get quickly to the road. Follow the road and enter Morgiou by the small cabins alley.
